Working Principle of the Foaming Machine

A foaming machine is a widely used industrial device for producing foam products such as foam plastics and foam glass. Simply put, it mixes liquid foaming agent with air, and produces foam materials filled with tiny bubbles through heating and pressurization.

A complete foaming machine consists of five major systems: foaming agent supply system, mixing system, heating system, pressurization system and forming system, which work together to complete the whole production process. During operation, the foaming agent is delivered from the storage tank to the mixing unit. The built-in stirring structure ensures thorough blending of the foaming agent and air, which lays a solid foundation for qualified finished products. The mixed materials are then heated to the proper foaming temperature before being sent to the pressurization system. Compressors apply pressure to the materials to stabilize the internal bubbles and prevent them from rupturing.

After pressurization, the materials enter the forming stage. They are injected into molds and solidify under set temperature and duration, turning into finished solid foam products. The whole process involves multiple physical changes. Precise control over temperature, pressure and processing time is essential, as these factors directly affect the quality and performance of foam materials.

Chemical foaming process boasts many advantages, yet it has a critical drawback: it generates chemical by-products. For high-standard application scenarios such as pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries, chemical foaming is not applicable.

These sectors generally adopt physical foaming technology. The PE physical foam gasket sheet extruder manufactured by Foshan Gaoming Keli Machinery Co., Ltd. produces no uncontrolled chemical derivatives during operation, fully complying with the stringent testing standards of pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries.

Nowadays, foaming machines are widely applied in building thermal insulation, logistics packaging, transportation and many other industries. With continuous technological progress, the structure and production techniques of foaming machines keep improving to meet diverse production requirements. Our foaming equipment features mature technology and stable operation, delivering reliable support for the production of various foam products.
