Compared with conventional EPS and EPE foams, PET foam sheets deliver prominent advantages in heat resistance, oil resistance and 100 % recyclability. Market demand keeps rising for disposable hot food containers, cold chain fresh food trays and industrial sandwich liners. Conventional EPE foam has a low heat resistance threshold and cannot hold high temperature food. Sheets produced on the PET CO₂ Foamed Board Extruder via supercritical CO₂ physical foaming achieve a heat distortion temperature above 100 °C and can be directly thermoformed into hot food containers. Post consumer products can be fully melt re pelletized, complying with global dual carbon and circular packaging policies. Many packaging manufacturers upgrade existing PET Foam Sheet Extrusion Line by replacing dedicated screws and cooling forming dies instead of purchasing entirely new lines, which greatly lowers capital investment.
PET resin strongly absorbs atmospheric moisture. Insufficient drying leads to residual moisture in feedstock. When processed on the PET Foam Sheet Extrusion Line, moisture causes internal pinholes and broken cells; in severe cases whole rolls of sheet are scrapped. Auxiliary units for drying, cooling and traction are equally important as the main extruder. Focusing merely on the main host while neglecting supporting equipment frequently results in unqualified sheets.
